After postponing its January ceremony due to COVID-19, the National Board of Review handed out its awards Tuesday (15 MARCH 2022) in New York.
Will Smith, who was named best actor for his role in “King Richard,” posed for photographers solo and with co-star Aunjanue Ellis.
In the film, Smith and Ellis play the parents of tennis greats Venus and Serena Williams.
“Licorice Pizza” star Bradley Cooper posed for photographers before heading inside to present an award.
Paul Thomas Anderson, who wrote and directed “Licorice Pizza,” was supported by Julianne Moore, who starred in his movie “Boogie Nights.”
Alana Haim, who took home best breakthrough performance for “Licorice Pizza” arrived with co-star Cooper Hoffman.
“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” star Tony Shalhoub also walked the carpet before presenting.
Another presenter, Morena Baccarin, was accompanied by her husband Ben McKenzie.
Widely considered a precursor of the Academy Awards, the National Board of Review was founded in 1909 when a group of film historians, students and educators announced their picks for the best film and performances.
