Diane Kruger details the “inappropriate and uncomfortable” screen test she experienced during the Troy casting process.

The German-born actress revealed that she “definitely hit the Weinstein of Hollywood” during a recent screening of her upcoming show Swim with Sharks at the Variety SXSW studio.

She played a ruthless movie executive in the 1994 Hollywood film and television reboot of the same name, directed by George Wong and starring Kevin Spacey.

Krueger, who plays Helen in Troy, says that when she auditioned for Wolfgang Peterson’s 2004 historical drama, she auditioned for ‘the head of the studio’ in full costume and made her feel ‘like meat’ “.

She told Variety: “I remember doing tests for Troy and having to go to the studio manager in costume. When I was looked up and down and asked ‘Why do you think you should play that?’ I felt like a Meat.”

“I think when I started, it felt like that. It was Hollywood,” she continued, “plus, my background is modeling, and trust me, they have their moments.”

Kruger declined to name the head of Warner Bros. studios, who had asked her to come in for a screen test.

The Independent has contacted Krueger’s representatives for comment.

The 45-year-old actress admitted that for her role in the women’s rerun of Swimming with Sharks, Krueger reflected on “how bad it is in our society during certain times, not just in Hollywood. Gagging and Acceptable Behavior”.

“The fragility of the character, combined with this excessive abuse of power, really interested me,” Krueger explained.

The actor will reprise Spacey’s character in the original film.

Spacey’s “House of Cards” character was dropped from the hit Netflix series after being accused of sexual misconduct by several people in 2017. The disgraced actor has been ordered to pay the producers of the MRC series $31m (£23m) for breaching their sexual harassment policy.

Swimming with Sharks Season 1 is scheduled to release on Roku, with all episodes set to air on April 15.
