Sam Asghari, 27, took to Instagram Thursday to reveal he was rejected for a minor role in the fifth episode of the new series, “And Just Like That.” The aspiring actor — who has been dating Spears since 2016 and got engaged in September — wanted to play Carrie Bradshaw’s physical therapist, Travis, but says he was ultimately passed over by casting directors. The part instead went to hunky Aussie actor Ryan Cooper, 35. “Man, I was looking forward to this role for the reboot of ‘ and the City,’ ‘And Just Like That,’” Asghari wrote on Instagram. “Shout out to the dude that got it! It was a dope role Asghari has been trying to crack Hollywood, but he hasn’t yet been able to do so — despite being engaged to one of the world’s most famous celebrities. To date, the star has only landed guest roles on programs, including “NCIS.” He also had a minor part as a “sexy Santa” in the small-screen dramedy “Hacks” — produced by HBO Max. HBO Max is the same company behind “And Just Like That,” so it’s unclear why execs thought he was the wrong fit for the “ and the City” reboot role. The Post has reached out for comment
