I’ve got very high hopes for Amanda Seyfried this awards season. Not only is she phenomenal in David Fincher’s Mank, but it’s also been the ultimate treat following her growing filmography since her feature debut in 2004’s Mean Girls, a resume that’s now absolutely packed with variety and stellar performances. It was only a matter of time before she was in contention for an Oscar nomination. Another reason why I’m rooting for big things for Seyfried this season is because nominations afford someone added clout and I like seeing that kind of notoriety go to individuals who have a positive influence on the industry and the creators they work with. Amanda Seyfried: Harte Szenen in ‚Mank‘ Amanda Seyfried fand viele Aufnahmen in ‘Mank’ extrem schwer zu filmen.  Die 34-Jährige spielt Marion Davies in David Finchers biografischem Film über den ‘Citizen Kane’-Schriftsteller Herman J. Mankiewicz und wurde von den strengen Forderungen des Filmemachers herausgefordert.  Wie die Schauspielerin nun verriet, waren viele Aufnahmen am Set kein Zuckerschlecken und brachten sie an die Grenzen ihres Berufes. Dem Magazin ‘Total Film’ erzählte Amanda: “Es war definitiv schwer. Aber gleichzeitig ist es wie Theater, dass man den Luxus hat, den Ton und die Emotionen wirklich echt darzustellen. Es fühlt sich in gewisser Weise wie ‘Groundhog Day’ an, aber so fängt er Dinge ein, die die meisten Menschen nicht haben.” Amanda war aber offenbar nicht die einzige, deren Nerven bei den Dreharbeiten zwischenzeitlich blank lagen. Ihr Co-Star Charles Dance erinnerte sich, wie Gary Oldman – der die Hauptrolle in dem Film spielt – einmal ausrastete, nachdem er gebeten wurde, mehr als 100 Takes für eine Dinner-Party-Szene zu drehen. “Wir haben Take nach Take nach Take nach Take gedreht. Und Oldman sagte irgendwann zu David: ‘David, ich habe diese Szene hundert verdammte Male gemacht.’ Und Fincher sagte: ‘Ja, ich weiß, aber das ist 101.
